February Gigs to beat Festival Blues!

Hope you’ve all recovered from another awesome Celtic Connections Festival and what better way to keep the festival blues at bay than by heading across the water to Derry! We’re playing at the Glassworks as part of The Study in Strings concert on Saturday 7th February along with some top acts!  We were in Ireland last May at the Baltimore Fiddle Fair and really delighted to get invited to play in  Derry.

The following weekend we’re really looking forward to playing at The Tollbooth in Stirling on Friday 13th February. Not unlucky for us! A great venue that we’ve all had some great nights in and our first gig there for RANT. And then it’s down to Wigtownshire on Saturday 14th for a concert at Newton Stewart and District Music Club, County Buildings, Newton Stewart.

Hope to see you along the way!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you all! We hope you all had a great festive time and managed to eat, drink, be merry and rest of course too! We all spent christmas in Scotland this year which was a fantastic  end to a lovely year of travels, memories and music.

In December we performed concerts in Kirkmichael Kirk, South Ayrshire and Strathblane Village club. It was a lovely way to end the year incorporating some christmassy themed tunes, mulled wine and mince pies to get in the spirit!

We’re looking forward to the year ahead and you can keep up to date with where we’ll be via the website, Twitter and Facebook….. First stop DERRY on Saturday February 7th and first Scottish date of the year is STIRLING Friday 13th February, The Tollbooth.

Hope to see you along the way!!

Summer News Round Up!

It’s been a super summer for us this year getting to visit beautiful parts of Scotland and Sweden, whilst catching up with old friends along the way and meeting some lovely new people too!

We had a great time in Pitlochry performing at the Tummel and Tay Festival, lovely to be in beautiful perthshire and our first time in the Pitlochry Festival Theatre.

July saw us on a mini tour of the  islands.  We were delighted to be on Skye and play at Sabhal Mor Ostaig as part of Feis an Eilean. Big thank you to Duncan MacInnes for having us and for the lovely drams, tea, bacon butties afterwards! From Skye we headed over to North Uist and played a concert in Caranish Village Hall. Perfect place for acoustic fiddles! We’re hoping to return again very soon! Thank so much to Usidean Robertson for  all his help in organising the concert and fabulous dinner too! Also to local lad and outstanding accordionist Padruig Moireasdan who performed at the concert. The Scottish weather did not disappoint either and we even managed to get to the beach for some paddling pre show!  Thank you Skye and North Uist! Very special places that we hope to visit again soon.

This summer we made our first trip as band to Sweden! Lucky us! First stop though was to visit Sarah-Jane in Oslo before travelling from Oslo to Gothenburg. We played two lovely concerts in Varberg and Fjaras and were so well looked after throughout.  It was hot hot hot too! coupled with time for shopping and a few cold beer! Thank you Torbjorn for inviting us to perform.

Finally, we were back in Scotland again and headed north to Shetland for Fiddle Frenzy! Jenna and Bethany were curators at this years festival and it was fantastic opportunity to share the platform with many amazing local musicians too. Mareel is a fantastic venue for live music and we had a great time playing there.  The concert with Ross Couper and Tom Oakes was recorded live and we hope to have some of the footage from it to share with you again soon.

Thanks again to everyone who has helped us this summer we’ve had ball! Hoping to do it all again soon!……. watch this space for more updates!
